About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Project Manager to join our dynamic team at Associate Capital. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems are designed, installed, and maintained to the highest standards, particularly in life science facility settings.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the project team, design team, vendors, and consultants to ensure MEP systems adhere to the specific needs and stringent regulations of healthcare facilities.
  • Lead the review and approval of MEP design drawings, specifications, and documentation to guarantee alignment with project requirements, healthcare facility regulations, and codes.
  • Strategically coordinate with general and subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to oversee the procurement process of materials and equipment essential for MEP system installations.
  • Implement and enforce procurement strategies to ensure quality and value engineering.
  • Lead the oversight of MEP system installation and testing processes to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous testing protocols and quality assurance measures.
  • Conduct comprehensive site inspections regularly to monitor MEP work progress, proactively identify potential issues, and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Utilize advanced problem-solving skills to address and resolve any design conflicts, changes, or issues arising during construction.
  • Expertly manage MEP project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely completion within financial constraints.
  • Drive project milestones and deliverables through meticulous planning and resource allocation.
  • Ensure seamless commissioning and integration of MEP systems with other building systems to optimize overall performance and efficiency within schedule constraints.
  • Develop and implement strategies for system interoperability and operational synergy.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project stakeholders on best practices for MEP systems design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Continuously update and disseminate knowledge on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field, plus professional engineering license preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience in MEP management on healthcare/clinic/lab design and construction projects, ideally with experience in the City of San Francisco.
  • In-depth knowledge of MEP systems design, installation, and commissioning processes in healthcare/clinic/lab facilities, including proficiency in MEP design software and tools and familiarity with healthcare facility regulations, codes, and standards, such as OSHPD, NFPA, ASHRAE, and ASHE guidelines.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
