Office Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Assistant to join our Disability Resources team at Black Hawk College. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service, maintain accurate records, and ensure confidentiality in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a receptionist for the department, serving as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, faculty, and callers.
- Provide accurate and friendly customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Schedule and maintain appointments for the department and the Manager of Disability Resources & Access.
- Perform general clerical support, including data entry, report preparation, and filing.
- Maintain confidential student records and departmental files, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Schedule and coordinate tests for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with testing procedures and policies.
- Prepare exam notification forms for faculty and ensure tests are received by students in a timely manner.
- Proctor tests taken in Disability Resources & Access, ensuring academic integrity and delivering completed tests to the appropriate person or department.
- Resolve testing issues and document any irregularities, reporting accordingly.
- Assist in overseeing and scheduling student scribes, lab assistants, and interpreters.
- Ensure assistive technology loans and equipment are properly tracked and maintained.
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent required.
- Ability to work with a diverse public and maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and Outlook) required.
- Previous office experience preferred.
