Job Overview:

Responsible for the routine upkeep and servicing of Parratt-Wolff's varied fleet of drilling rigs, support vehicles, and machinery to ensure efficient operations while adhering to all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.

Duties will primarily take place at company facilities, with occasional service calls at project locations.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Assess, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of vehicles and machinery within the fleet, including both diesel and gasoline engines, pumps, transmissions, braking systems, electrical components, hydraulics, and more.

2. Conduct preventative maintenance on all vehicles and machinery to guarantee they remain in safe working order, which includes state inspections, oil changes, hydraulic fluid replacements, and lubrication.

3. Properly evaluate vehicles and machinery post-service or repair to confirm the safe and correct completion of work before returning them to service.

4. Utilize diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and schematics to identify and resolve mechanical issues. Safely operate standard and specialized tools, welders, and other equipment during maintenance or repair tasks.

5. Ensure all vehicles and heavy machinery are serviced and repaired in compliance with established safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements (State, local, DOT, OSHA, etc.).

6. Maintain precise records of all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles and machinery to ensure accurate data entry in maintenance management systems.

7. Collaborate effectively with fellow mechanics, drillers, shop personnel, and supervisors to identify problems and implement solutions that are mindful of both cost and time.

8. Conduct safety and maintenance inspections as necessary, ensuring that all vehicles and machinery are kept clean and maintained to high standards.

9. Perform additional duties as required.


Supervisory Duties:
The Fleet Maintenance Technician does not hold any supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required.
One year of vocational or technical training in mechanical repair is required.
A clean, insurable class C driver's license is required (CDL is a plus).
Ability to pass a DOT medical clearance physical (DOT medical card) is necessary.

Special Requirements:
Willingness to work weekends and overtime regularly.
Willingness to travel as needed (~5-10% of the time).
Field service calls may require overnight stays.
Assisting other locations with service and repair backlogs.
Transporting equipment in need of repair.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work independently without supervision while performing tasks safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance practices.
Experience in welding and fabrication is advantageous.
Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to safety protocols.
Basic computer skills for data entry, spreadsheets, and routine reporting.
Capability to diagnose mechanical issues and execute repairs.
Proficiency in using appropriate power and hand tools, as well as diagnostic equipment for repairs and testing.
Understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.

Ensure all maintenance and repair tasks are completed accurately and efficiently to prevent injuries and equipment damage.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:
This position requires frequent standing, bending, squatting, twisting, and turning, as well as occasional kneeling, climbing, crawling, typing, and reaching above shoulder height.
The individual must be physically capable of performing tasks associated with equipment repairs and maintenance.
Exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
The work environment may involve exposure to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, and cold, as well as noise levels that necessitate hearing protection.
