Job Summary

This leadership position will oversee the practice of Technology Change Control, reporting into the Production Operations organization. The successful candidate will drive improvement, guide the Change Management function, and ensure change requests are complete, accurate, and follow established procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define strategic direction for maturing the Change Control practice and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Guide the Change Management function to review change requests, assess risk, and drive actions to ensure changes are prepared for execution without impact.
  • Determine requirements for auto-approved changes via automation and drive toward automation while ensuring changes with higher risk, greater impact, or complexity require more scrutiny.
  • Work with teams to ensure issues are corrected after unsuccessful changes and releases to prevent repeated mistakes and improve processes.
  • Engage with Technology peers to learn about development activities and infrastructure changes early in the lifecycle to ensure change, release, and deployment preparation is completed in advance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams on change, release, and deployment processes.
  • Ensure changes are properly communicated, including publishing a change/release calendar, providing visibility to stakeholders, and notifying stakeholders of Go/No-Go decisions.
  • Drive data collection and analysis to identify issues, risks, and opportunities, and create actions based on the data.
  • Contribute to improving change, release, and deployment related metrics and reports, using data to identify areas of concern and drive focus.
  • Define and refine Change Management processes and policies, including setting requirements for changes and releases deployed to production.
  • Respond to Auditor requests related to Change Management and ensure audit issues are mitigated.
  • Coordinate with the Configuration Management team to ensure the CMDB is updated as changes are deployed to Production.
  • Coordinate with the ServiceNow team to leverage tooling and automation to improve efficiency and add value with the Change Control function.
  • Set a team mission and vision, define team goals, and define a roadmap for maturing the Change Control function.
  • Assess opportunities for improvement in processes or tooling.
  • Set high standards for self and others, drive for measurable results, and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Build strong relationships and partnerships with leaders and staff members from other teams inside and outside of Technology.
  • Support others with development of skills and capabilities, provide mentorship on professional development, and actively identify new learning opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with ITIL practices, including 5 years of experience with Change Control and Release Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a Technology organization.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creative thought leadership, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to create clear, concise, engaging, and polished presentations and reports.
  • Effective facilitation skills, basic understanding of applications and infrastructure technologies, ability to multi-task with multiple priorities, and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive customer and team member relationships, lead and influence change, and drive results.
Work Arrangements

This role is Hybrid. The successful candidate should be located within a commutable distance to one of our offices located in Baltimore MD, Charlotte NC, Wilmington DE, Evansville IN, Chicago IL, or Dallas/Fort Worth TX.
