Job Description

The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for leading the Maintenance team in ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and prioritize maintenance tasks to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Provide guidance and direction to staff on work assignments and priorities.
  • Lead and provide guidance to assembly process technicians.
  • Manage training plans to meet business needs.
  • Assist stores keeper in ordering components and ensuring proper spare parts levels.
  • Complete performance reviews annually.
  • Update training and job descriptions to keep them current.
  • Work towards attaining a 95% rating on all items in the PM program.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ensure the Maintenance team follows all work instructions and maintains documentation in accordance with TS16949.
  • Assist with first inspections on new equipment.
  • Foster a positive working environment and address rumors promptly.
  • Develop and maintain equipment build standards and standardize components.
  • Actively pursue opportunities to reduce costs and improve cycle times.
  • Support other teams with new installations and cost reduction implementations.
  • Support Production by resolving equipment/molding-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Support other Maintenance teams as required during holidays.
  • Maintain KPIs for departments.
  • Develop and maintain build standards and EOAT standards.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Secondary School Diploma and 3-year Technologist diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Licensed Millwright or Electrician (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Maintenance Repair role (preferred).
  • Leadership skills to coordinate activities and communicate requirements to internal support and external vendors.
  • Experience in machine shop techniques.
  • Sound knowledge of operation and maintenance of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, painting, robotics, and assembly techniques.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD (preferred) or similar design software.
  • Proficient reading design drawings and blueprints, including basic knowledge of GD&T.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including unscheduled overtime when necessary.
