We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented EHS Professional to join our team at Pace. As an EHS Professional, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct monthly safety surveys to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate incidents and injuries, identify root causes, and develop measures to prevent reoccurrence.
- Actively problem-solve and troubleshoot waste logistics to ensure efficient and safe waste management.
- Verify Waste Stream Profiles and Waste Inventory are accurate and up-to-date.
- Ensure waste labels are correct and accurate, and understand and implement waste storage and handling procedures.
- Assist in the disposal of hazardous waste and materials as part of laboratory clean outs.
- Document hazard reviews, including pre- and post-work, and identify processes that require a hazard review.
- Participate in monthly Tech Forum Lab Safety meetings and communicate EHS updates to committees as needed.
- Provide respirator fit tests and machine guarding assessments.
- Support lab commissioning, including lab EHS readiness, equipment start-up, pre-start-up safety reviews, technical support for lab moves, and lab exiting for vacated areas.
- Maintain active communication with various customer personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
- EHS and/or Chemistry experience, 1+ year preferred.
- OSHA 30 and/or Hazwoper 40, preferred.
- Ability to identify improvement opportunities, develop plans to close gaps, garner management support for key initiatives, and track improvement initiatives to closure.
- Risk analysis skills - capable of hazard and risk identification, assessment, and controls; communicate risks and methods to reduce risk.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize work effectively.
- 80 hours of paid vacation per year.
