Job Description:

3M is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Specialist - Global Water Focus to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of water discharges at our manufacturing facilities globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs, processes, and technology related to water discharges at 3M manufacturing facilities globally.
  • Lead teams and advise colleagues on best practice water strategies, solutions, and implementation, engaging with regulatory agencies as needed to support 3M manufacturing facility operations.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction on water stewardship and compliance subject matter expertise globally.
  • Develop standard work for water programs and tools, including validation with area EHS teams to ensure improvements are efficient and effective.
  • Collaborate across corporate EHS, area/site EHS teams, engineering, R&D, legal affairs, and external stakeholders to drive performance excellence, recognize and develop best practices, and implement novel environmental technologies.
  • Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, attention to detail, and standard work to realize a working environment of open communications, project management, and prioritization, and a full entitlement mindset toward compliance and risk reduction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Ten (10) years of environmental or EHS experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Additional qualifications include a degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, combined expertise in water distribution, treatment, and optimization, experience with global, regional, and/or state environmental regulations, permits, and regulatory compliance strategies for manufacturing facilities, experience in process engineering, design engineering, project management, and/or manufacturing/production, and certification(s) such as Professional Engineer (PE), Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or related EHS credential.

Work Arrangements:

  • Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid).

Travel: May include up to 30% domestic/international.

Relocation Assistance: Is not authorized.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected compensation range for this position is $137,439 - $167,981, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
