About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our Environmental Health and Safety team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Leadership: Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure adherence to safety regulations and company standards.
  • Safety Assessments: Conduct regular evaluations of safety practices at various locations and share findings with management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with external safety reporting requirements, including maintaining logs and managing safety databases.
  • Policy and Procedure Management: Collaborate with leadership to update safety-related policies and procedures.
  • Security Compliance: Assist in maintaining adherence to security requirements for facilities, including emergency response protocols.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Help manage emergency response programs, including coordinating drills and training for response teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience in a safety or compliance role.
  • Preferred certifications include advanced safety coursework or certifications.
  • OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 511 coursework preferred.
  • ASP/CSP certification preferred.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs is a plus.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move around for extended periods in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Work in conditions that may include exposure to various odors, temperatures, and noise levels.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
