Position Overview

SAIC is looking for a skilled Systems Engineer to support the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Falconer Program. This role demands a solid background in technical engineering, emphasizing systems engineering and configuration management principles, as well as mission planning and scheduling expertise.

The ideal candidate will excel in direct interactions with clients and contractors, effectively addressing inquiries and contributing to technical discussions and collaborative working groups. The ability to operate autonomously while representing the program and SAIC in various meetings is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Systems Engineering for Command and Control (C2) software applications (including TBMCS, MAAPTK, GALE, JADOCS, PTT, among others) within the AOC framework.
  • Engage with government partners and SAIC leadership to develop technical roadmaps for upcoming Agile Release Event (ARE) content and next-generation systems.
  • Provide mentorship and high-level support to the integration team.
  • Establish criteria for testing and evaluation processes.
  • Oversee engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data across various product teams regarding integration, procurement, and installation status.
  • Lead initiatives for automation and scripting within the weapons system.
  • Coordinate with integration and cybersecurity teams to address STIG findings, ensuring the security of all delivered products.
  • Identify and analyze critical paths, generating reports to resolve issues for integration and cybersecurity teams.
  • Utilize project management tools to monitor team progress, conduct analyses, and create performance metrics.
  • Prepare data and reports for various program review levels.
  • Manage deployment activities, including hardware and software procurement, while coordinating with logistics contacts to ensure timely equipment arrival.
  • Submit Change Requests for new software and track licensing requirements.
  • Create build flow documentation for release in AREs and perform quality control on documentation.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience; Master's degree with seven (7) years; or PhD/JD with four (4) years of experience.
  • Possession of a current DoD Secret security clearance, with eligibility for SCI.
  • Must fulfill position and certification requirements as per DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level III (CompTIA Security+).
  • Experience in Systems Engineering tasks, including operations concept formulation, requirements analysis, system architecture design, and lifecycle cost estimation.
  • Proficient in conducting functional analysis, timeline analysis, and requirements allocation to translate customer needs into technical specifications.
  • Engineering expertise in Command and Control (C2) software applications (TBMCS, MAAPTK, GALE, JADOCS, PTT, etc.).
