Position Overview
SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Falconer Program. This role demands extensive technical engineering expertise, particularly in systems engineering and configuration management principles, mission planning, and sustainment. The ideal candidate will excel in direct interactions with clients and other contractors, effectively addressing inquiries, supporting technical meetings, and participating in enterprise working groups. The ability to work autonomously and represent the program at various meetings is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Systems Engineering for Command and Control (C2) software (including TBMCS, MAAPTK, GALE, JADOCS, PTT, and others) within the AOC framework.
- Collaborate with government partners and SAIC leadership to develop technical roadmaps for future Agile Release Event (ARE) content and next-generation systems.
- Provide senior-level guidance and mentorship to the integration team.
- Establish criteria for testing and evaluation processes.
- Oversee engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Collect, report, and analyze data across various product teams regarding integration, procurement, and installation status.
- Lead engineering initiatives focused on automation and scripting for the weapons system.
- Direct integration and cybersecurity teams to address STIG findings, ensuring all delivered products meet security standards.
- Identify and analyze critical paths, generating Cross-Product Team reports and resolving blockers for integration and cybersecurity teams.
- Utilize project management software to monitor team progress, conduct analyses, and produce metrics.
- Prepare data and reports for all levels of program reviews.
- Track deployment activities, including hardware/software acquisitions, and coordinate with logistics points of contact on equipment status, proactively addressing potential issues.
- Submit Change Requests for new software and monitor any new software licensing needs.
- Create build flow documentation for release in AREs and perform quality control reviews of documents.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience; Master's degree with seven (7) years; or PhD/JD with four (4) years of experience.
- Current DoD Secret security clearance, with eligibility for SCI.
- Must fulfill position and certification requirements as outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level III (CompTIA Security+).
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering activities, including operations formulation, requirements analysis, system architecture, and performance analysis.
- Experience in functional analysis, timeline analysis, and translating customer requirements into technical specifications.
- Engineering experience in Command and Control (C2) software (TBMCS, MAAPTK, GALE, JADOCS, PTT, and others).
