Deputy Director

Brightline Defense is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director to join our leadership team. As a key member of our executive team, you will play a critical role in shaping the organization's vision, strategy, and direction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental justice, climate policy, and nonprofit management, with a proven track record of success in leading teams and driving organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of Brightline Defense's strategic plan, working closely with the Executive Director and other senior staff.
- Oversee the management of Brightline Defense's programs and partnerships, ensuring effective delivery of our mission and goals.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement policies and procedures that support the organization's mission and goals.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Brightline Defense's staff, including training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, partners, and community leaders.
- Represent Brightline Defense at conferences, meetings, and other events, as needed.
- At least 10 years of experience in nonprofit management, with a strong background in environmental justice and climate policy.
- Proven track record of success in leading teams and driving organizational growth.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Background in environmental or social justice, climate or clean energy.
- Familiarity with state agencies and proceedings overseeing air quality and energy.
- JD or MS in public policy, public administration, environmental science or other relevant subjects.
