Job Overview

The Healthcare Customer Service Representative plays a vital role in fostering positive interactions with patients, ensuring effective communication over the phone, managing appointment bookings, handling patient registration, and collecting payments and co-payments. This position is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to patients while efficiently navigating the services offered by Cedars-Sinai Medical Network.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Deliver exemplary customer service by effectively managing the intake, prioritization, and resolution of patient inquiries for a multi-specialty team.

+ Welcome patients and assist in addressing their concerns or escalating issues as necessary.

+ Facilitate patient check-in and check-out processes, collect co-payments, issue receipts, and ensure accurate reconciliation of payments. Confirm that patient demographic and insurance information is up-to-date in the system.

+ Schedule appointments, complete patient registration, and collect payments while maintaining a high standard of service.

+ Aid in the management of physician schedules and identify areas for operational improvement. Handle patient-provider communications as directed.

+ Process and monitor referrals and authorizations across various insurance plans.

+ Oversee patient care flow and assist in monitoring message pools and standard workflows.

+ Regularly evaluate personal workflow to identify opportunities for enhancement.

+ Clearly explain policies, procedures, or services to patients using administrative expertise.

+ Engage in daily team huddles and staff meetings.

+ Uphold and promote infection prevention standards along with all departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Patient Service Representative in an outpatient medical office setting is preferred.
