Position Overview

Under the general oversight of the Director of Risk Management, the Patient Safety Manager is tasked with the responsibility of supervising and executing systems and protocols to guarantee patient safety.

This role encompasses the monitoring and evaluation of patient safety metrics, formulating and implementing enhancement initiatives aimed at preventing errors and accidents, conducting safety training for personnel, and investigating incidents that may jeopardize patient safety. The Patient Safety Manager is instrumental in developing educational programs and influencing leadership to achieve quantifiable improvements in patient safety, thereby supporting the sustainability of reductions in medical errors and other factors that lead to unintended adverse patient outcomes. A primary focus of the Patient Safety Manager is to foster a culture of safety within the healthcare facility that prioritizes patient well-being and minimizes harm risks.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related Healthcare field.
  • California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization required within 30 days of hire.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or a related Healthcare field.
  • Certification as a Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) upon hire.
  • Two years of experience in patient safety.
