Position Summary

This role involves supporting the Housing Manager in managing and supervising daily functions related to delivering housing services to residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing daily operations, which include: leasing units, monitoring recertifications,
initiating evictions, tracking occupancy rates, and ensuring the maintenance of buildings and grounds.

  • Under the guidance of the Housing Manager, ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and lease agreements.
  • Conduct inspections of properties, grounds, and units to identify repair and service needs.

  • Respond to resident inquiries and resolve complaints; manage resident evictions as necessary.
  • Coordinate departmental services across divisions to promote effective service delivery.

  • Prepare purchase requisitions for services and supplies.
  • Manage operating budgets and prepare related reports.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Typically requires an Associate's degree in a relevant field and 1-2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the essential duties of the position.

Licensing Requirements:
Public Housing Manager Certification - to be obtained within one year of employment.
Valid Driver's License.

Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and rules; proficiency in computer software; supervisory principles; budget management; report preparation methods; and inspection techniques.

Physical Requirements:

This position typically requires reaching, standing, walking, and other physical activities. Sedentary work may involve sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking and standing required.
