Job Summary

The Department of Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Transportation Operations Coordinator. This position will be responsible for operating and communicating on radio and telephone equipment in the Transportation Management Center, as well as performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and communicate on radio and telephone equipment to coordinate transportation operations
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping
  • Assist with the coordination of transportation operations, including traffic management and incident response
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field, such as transportation or customer service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The employee may be required to sit for prolonged periods using a keyboard under artificial lighting. This position requires the incumbent to dress in a professional manner due to tours and public viewing of the Transportation Management Center.

  • The position requires a Drug Screening to be passed prior to being hired.
  • The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to being hired.
