Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach lower-level undergraduate courses in Religious Studies, including History of Christianity and Introduction to World Religions
  • Develop and teach upper-level undergraduate courses reflecting specific areas of specialization
  • Contribute to the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies with expertise in North American and European specializations
  • Develop and maintain a research program in world Christianity
Requirements:
  • PhD in Religious Studies or a related field at the time of appointment
  • Primary expertise and teaching experience in world Christianity, either historical or contemporary
  • Proficiency with theories and methodologies in the academic study of religion
  • Ability to teach using Religious Studies or comparative religion approaches
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated history of teaching excellence
  • Engagement with interdisciplinary teaching and/or research
  • Publications or a clear plan for future publications in the area of specialty
  • Experience or interest in undergraduate experiential learning
  • Ability or interest in attracting external grants, international partnerships, or interdisciplinary partnerships
