Job Title: Engineering Supervisor

At 180 Engineering, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for supervising the design, testing, and engineering support of new and existing consumer products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of new products and product enhancements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the necessary resources and expertise to succeed.
  • Develop and implement processes and tools to drive efficiency, manage work activities and schedules, and quantify and manage risk.
  • Collaborate with product management partners to design, develop, and introduce new product concepts and major product enhancements.
  • Evaluate proposals, hire, and supervise external design and engineering firms against project schedule, budget, and design criteria.
  • Interface with the legal department to establish and maintain disclosure and patent documents, infringements, product safety, and liability issues.
  • Drive continuous improvements to productivity, quality, and organizational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial).
  • 8+ years of experience with product development in a high production environment.
  • 2+ years of people management or mentoring experience, including leading teams or mentoring.
  • Consumer goods/consumer durables manufacturing experience is required.

  • Demonstrated change-agent.
  • Strong working knowledge of DFM, FMEA, VA/VE, Test Plans, Cost Modeling, and LEAN.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with NPD, design, procurement, and manufacturing.
  • Financial and business acumen, with experience developing and monitoring a departmental budget successfully.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Strong project management expertise.
