School Nurse Professional

We are seeking a skilled School Nurse to join our team at Littleton Elementary District. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing services to students, promoting their health, well-being, and academic success.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students with personal health and hygiene training, providing individual support as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers to provide consultation and nursing services, including general and special health counseling, patient care instructions, and treatment services.
- Perform nursing procedures, first aid, and prescribed medical treatments within the scope of authority, observing and assessing patients' conditions and behavior, ensuring patient safety and stability.
- Interview and observe patients to gather medical history and current condition, reviewing records, taking vital signs, assessing current condition and pain level, administering medications as required, and recording nursing notes on patient charts.
- Support and enhance patients' physical and emotional stability, explaining the nature of illness, plan of care, procedures, and treatments to patients, families, and significant others.
- Prepare correspondence, referrals, patient histories, and narrative nursing activity reports, updating and maintaining various files, records, charts, and other documents, and maintaining appropriate records and preparing reports as required.
- Communicate with parents, students, and staff to convey pertinent information while maintaining confidentiality of personal information.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with children and persons with disabilities is desirable.
- Current valid Arizona LPN license is required, and must remain active with all annual licensing requirements.
The work is performed in a school environment with moderate physical requirements. The successful candidate must be able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with reasonable accommodation: vision corrected to 20/20, ability to hear in the normal range (corrected), able to speak clearly, and able to lift, move, and carry up to 40 pounds.
Terms of EmploymentThe position is ten months per year, with salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
