Overview
The Patient Service Representative plays a crucial role in managing clerical responsibilities within the practice. This includes handling phone calls, welcoming patients and visitors, and efficiently scheduling appointments.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist all patients and visitors, whether in person or via phone.
- Maintain a courteous and professional phone demeanor while answering calls.
- Address inquiries from patients, potential patients, and visitors with respect and professionalism.
- Ensure the reception area is tidy and organized.
- Register new patients and update existing patient information, including personal and financial details.
- Facilitate patient flow by informing providers of patient arrivals and communicating any delays to both patients and clinical staff.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality by ensuring that protected health information is secured and that computer systems are logged off when unattended.
Supervisory Role
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Work Environment
This role is situated in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands for this position require regular communication and interaction with others. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. The ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds is also necessary.
Position Type
This is a full-time role with varying days and hours, including weekends.
Travel Requirements
Travel for this position is expected to be minimal, less than 5%.
