We are seeking a proficient Dispatcher to enhance our operations at TAG Refrigeration. The Dispatcher serves as a crucial communication link among various stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination and customer satisfaction. This role involves engaging with clients, suppliers, and technicians while overseeing repair and maintenance tasks across multiple locations.
This position requires after-hours availability and is fully onsite, including weekend shifts with weekdays off. The working hours are:
- Evening Shift: 2pm-11pm or 3pm-12am
- Overnight Shift: 9pm-6am or 10pm-7am
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary communication point for urgent and non-urgent requests, managing technician assignments and tracking their progress.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, maintaining composure in high-pressure situations while multitasking effectively.
- Facilitate clear and timely information exchange among all parties involved, ensuring operational efficiency.
Essential Duties:
- Familiarize yourself with technicians' skills and personalities to ensure optimal assignments.
- Receive and process calls, dispatching technicians as needed.
- Utilize email for dispatching urgent and non-urgent requests based on customer preferences.
- Create job entries in the management software and assign tasks to the appropriate technician.
- Follow up with technicians to ensure timely updates are relayed back to the main office.
- Manage customer expectations regarding technician arrival times.
- Provide technicians with purchase orders and accurately process vendor invoices.
- Assist technicians with procurement when credit card transactions are necessary.
- Maintain the on-call schedule, incorporating technician feedback and adhering to union guidelines.
- Review and address any outstanding correspondence from the previous day.
- Support field technicians by serving as a central information hub, addressing vendor issues, equipment repairs, and communication device troubleshooting.
- Onboard new technicians and customers within the operational software.
- Collaborate with the Construction Team to ensure technician availability for projects.
- Facilitate credit applications for new customers and coordinate with accounting for approvals.
- Assist with job quoting and ensure accurate markup calculations.
- Distribute weekly reports to technicians, ensuring timely closure of service calls.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen and respond effectively to distressed individuals.
- Strong multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient problem-solving skills, with the capacity to assess situations and respond appropriately.

Work Environment: This role is based in an office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, multi-line phones, and filing systems.
Physical Requirements: The position may require occasional lifting of office supplies up to 40 pounds.
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of dispatch experience in a dynamic environment.
