About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Elevator Design Engineer to join our team at the City of New York. As a key member of our Asset & Capital Management Division, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing elevator systems for our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop elevator systems for new and existing buildings, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and implement mechanical and electrical design standards for capital projects.
  • Prepare condition assessments, feasibility reports, and design documents using AutoCAD/Revit/Bluebeam.
  • Perform project coordination, ensure completion of engineering tasks, and provide support during all phases of design and construction.
  • Represent the Electrical & Elevator Unit at interdepartmental meetings and serve as a liaison on elevator engineering issues.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college.
  • One year of full-time satisfactory experience in mechanical engineering work, or a Master's degree in mechanical engineering.
