Job Summary

Columbia Helicopters is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support, managing system configurations, and ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems, ensuring security and usability.
  • Monitor system performance daily, responding promptly to security or usability concerns.
  • Maintain system backups, including creation and testing, to ensure business continuity.
  • Respond to and resolve Service Desk requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Upgrade systems and processes as required to enhance functionality and security.
  • Administer infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, and malware protection software.
  • Review application and system logs to identify potential issues.
  • Install and test computer-related equipment to ensure compatibility and performance.
  • Stay current with new technologies, organizing pilot studies and demonstrations to understand their potential impact.
  • Collaborate with the IT Management team to ensure compliance with governmental and contractual requirements.
  • Conduct yourself in accordance with Columbia Helicopters' Core Values.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience in system administration.
  • Experience maintaining VMWare environments and Windows servers, including setup, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Two years' experience with server virtualization.
  • Experience with Storage Area Network technologies, Veeam, Nimble, VMware administration, and design and implementation of new systems.
  • Ability to manage Active Directory and Group Policies.
  • Experience designing and maintaining wired and wireless infrastructure.
  • Ability to install, configure, and maintain Exchange Server, SQL Server, and other systems.
  • Experience in administration of IP Switching and TCP/IP networking.
  • General understanding of Cisco Systems required, CCNA preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and concepts to various audiences.
  • Five years of supervisor or management experience is preferred, with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to coach employees.
