Food Service Assistant

The Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation seeks a skilled Food Service II to provide support to our dining service activities at assigned locations. This role involves preparing and serving food items to students, staff, and visitors while maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise student employees and ensure they follow food safety procedures and provide excellent customer service.
- Properly store leftover food and potentially hazardous food items to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Prepare and pre-portion food products according to company recipes and food safety specifications.
- Set up line areas and collect necessary supplies to prepare menu items for service.
- Utilize kitchen tools and utensils, including knives, to efficiently prepare food items.
- Receive and store food requisitions and supplies to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
- Process phone orders and assist customers with their needs.
- Assist in catering and special functions to provide exceptional service to our clients.
- Maintain production records and ensure accurate inventory management.
- Clean food preparation and production areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Operate and maintain equipment to ensure efficient food service operations.
- Replenish product as needed, including ice machine and ice cream machine supplies.
- Sweep and mop work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Report any equipment or service problems to ensure prompt resolution.
- Report any deficiencies or problems with food or supplies to ensure quality control.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in short order cooking and food service equipment operation.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and cash handling procedures.
This role requires:
- Moderate to heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Constant standing, bending, and walking.
- Exposure to temperature extremes, slippery surfaces, and potentially dangerous equipment.
