We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Faculty Group Practice team at NYU Langone Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and/or Advanced Care Practitioners and nurses in providing patient care
- Validate patient identifiers, prepare patients and rooms for examination, measure and record vital signs, draw blood, and collect other lab samples
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and performing data entry
- Escort patients to exam rooms, clean and stock exam rooms, and maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Communicate effectively with providers and administrative staff, escalate issues as needed
- Answer phone calls, review and respond to inbasket messages, and follow up on Rx refill requests
- Assist physicians with patient intake and transcribing visit into EPIC
- Perform other duties as needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution or current medical assistant certification from a nationally recognized accredited institution
- Working knowledge of English, other language an asset
- Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently and thrive in a team work environment
- MA experience preferred
- EKG, phlebotomy, and venipuncture experience preferred
- Russian speaker
