Fire Protection Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fire protection systems for our clients. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities- Perform fire suppression and alarm engineering calculations, including hydraulic calculations and intelligibility calculations.
- Perform life safety code reviews.
- Prepare construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with in-house and subconsultant specialists.
- Coordinate with other trades, such as architects, electrical, mechanical and plumbing engineers.
- Perform field verification of existing systems for renovation projects.
- Communicate with manufacturer representatives to determine solutions for specific applications.
- Prepare design deliverables for various owner required submittals, i.e., SD, DD, CD level documents.
- Perform project construction administration including response to RFI's, review of submittals, preparation of bulletins, review of contractor change orders, field visits and punch trips for installation verification.
- Review designs prepared by others as part of AEC's QA/QC process.
- Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as projects require.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering from an accredited university.
- FPE License.
- Years of fire protection engineering design experience.
- Working knowledge of design and analysis software such as Revit, AutoCAD. Knowledge with AutoSPRINK and EASE Evac a benefit but not required.
- Good knowledge of State and Federal Codes.
