Role Overview

We're seeking a seasoned Fire Protection Engineer with experience in designing fire alarm and suppression systems to lead our fire protection discipline on multiple concurrent projects. As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading design efforts, serving as the engineer of record, and supporting proposal and business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination.
  • Design fire alarm and suppression systems for commercial, industrial, and municipal/government projects.
  • Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection, and collaboration with clients' team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, building codes, and safety standards, including NFPA and international standards.
  • Fluency in design and modeling software, including AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software.
Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or NICET Level 3 or 4 certification.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in fire protection and/or fire alarm design, including prescriptive, performance-based design, and fully detailed design.
  • Ability to produce fire alarm design drawings, including device layouts, installation details, and risers based on applicable code requirements.
  • PE registration.
  • Experience designing for United States federal agencies, such as USACE, NAVFAC, USDOE, and experience with design of telecommunications, CCTV, access control, or desire to learn.
