Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

This role supports the mission of HealthONE/HCA to enhance the quality of life for all those we serve by addressing not only medical needs but also the holistic needs of individuals. Under the guidance of the Radiologist and the lead technologist, you will perform ultrasound procedures following established protocols for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. You will be responsible for maintaining expert technical and patient-care skills to deliver quality diagnostic results. Knowledge and competence in cleaning and high-level disinfection of ultrasound probes and other equipment are essential. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of an AMA-approved Ultrasound School training program or an armed services program that qualifies for approval. Current certification by ARDMS or RVT (vascular) certification is required. Must maintain current registry and annual competency for cleaning and high-level disinfection of ultrasound probes. Participation in continuing education activities to sustain knowledge and skill level is essential. BLS certification must be maintained.
  • Completion of an AMA-approved Ultrasound program.
  • Preferably, 1 year of recent hospital Ultrasound experience. Skills should align with formal training requirements.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered Radiographer (ARRT) certification is preferred.
