Job Summary

The Georgia Department of Education is seeking a skilled Education Facilities Consultant to provide technical assistance to local school districts in the area of facility planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning analysis, data analysis, survey design, and report writing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance to school systems in the development and maintenance of long-range facilities plans and sources of funding for projects as determined by law, regulations, and State Board of Education (SBOE) rules
  • Provide school systems with state-level student population projections and other necessary information to complete current and proposed organizational studies
  • Provide technical assistance to local district staff in development of project applications for funding
  • Collaborate with local district leadership to convene facility survey committees to review, validate, and make recommendations to local and state boards of education
  • Train local school system staff in the facility plan development process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education specialist in leadership degree
  • Central office, system or district level public school administration experience
  • Experience with facilities planning at the local school district level
