Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Diet Technician to join our team at United Hospital Center. As a key member of our clinical nutrition team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient education and support to patients assigned to you by Registered Dietitians.
  • Plan and prepare meals and menus based on facility guidelines, ensuring the nutritional needs of patients are met.
  • Conduct screens, gather data, and perform other tasks to assist Registered Dietitians in providing medical nutrition therapy.
  • Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and implement effective nutrition education programs for patients and their families.
  • Accurately document patient information and nutrition education provided in medical records.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest nutrition research and best practices.
Requirements
  • NDTR certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • 1 year of experience in hospital clinical settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasional lifting and carrying objects weighing 11-20 pounds. You will also be required to stand, stoop, bend, and sit for extended periods. Regularly pushing non-motorized equipment, such as food carts, is also required.

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and write in medical records.
  • Strong communication and teaching skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including EPIC system, email, Microsoft Office, and VST/VISION computer system.
  • Ability to understand and interpret written and oral communication.
