Position Overview:
The Lead Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for overseeing processes, tools, metrics, and directing activities and resources to execute quality assurance testing, particularly in software development within the Information Technology Services (ITS) department.


This role encompasses managing all quality-related functions, including comprehensive test activities, strategic planning, process enhancement, root cause analysis, debugging, and reporting.


The specialist ensures that the various systems supported and managed by ITS are delivered with exceptional quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective and efficient methodologies while maintaining thorough documentation throughout the QA process.
- Communicate effectively with development and functional team members to ensure a reliable, consistent, and positive end-user experience.
- Conduct rigorous testing throughout the development lifecycle, identifying potential issues and providing feedback to development teams.
- In certain instances, take responsibility for developing and implementing solutions and enhancements.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including business analysts, developers, project managers, and contractors, to coordinate all testing levels, release planning, and deployments, while communicating progress and status updates.


Essential Competencies:
- Proficient understanding of quality assurance principles, current tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Ability to formulate a tailored testing strategy optimized for specific scenarios and effectively convey it to stakeholders.
- Experience in systems analysis, design, and development.
- Capability to work collaboratively with DevOps and software development teams to uphold best practices in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).


Technical Proficiencies:
- Databases: SQL, MySQL, PL/SQL, MongoDB.
- Applications: MS Visio, JIRA, HP ALM.
- Testing Types: API, UAT, Functional, Regression, Integration.
- Web Development: JAVA, jQuery, HTML, CSS, JS, XML.
- Testing Tools: Selenium, Postman, Appium, Katalon.


Project Management Experience:
- Familiarity with Development Models: Waterfall, Agile – Scrum, Kanban.
- Proven experience in implementing large-scale, complex systems and multi-tier modern software applications.


Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, showcasing a customer-focused approach. Well-acquainted with the interdependencies of enterprise applications.


Compensation:
The Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range for this position is $121,200 to $151,500, with salary commensurate with relevant experience. This role offers a hybrid work schedule at the discretion of management.


Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance and systems analysis roles.
- Background in systems analysis, requirements gathering, design, and support.
- Experience with large-scale systems development, testing, and rollout, requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously.
- Proficiency in testing methodologies, practices, standards, and relevant tools/technology.
- Proven track record of continuous process improvement.
- Experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity to guide teams toward best practices while providing ongoing training and support.
- Availability to work additional hours as necessary.
