The Building People, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Interior Design and Project Management Specialist to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your skills in commercial interior space design and project management to deliver top-notch services to our federal clients.

**Job Summary**

We are looking for a skilled professional with a minimum of five years' experience in commercial interior space design, particularly in large facility or building projects (new and renovations), as well as project management experience in the building construction sector. If you have expertise in systems furniture, understanding of construction methodology and terminology, and knowledge of space design principles, we want to hear from you.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage assigned portfolios of projects, addressing challenges related to space acquisition, budgeting, cost management, scheduling, estimating, construction, space reconfiguration, tenant outfitting, project administration, program management, logistics, furniture procurement, and building upkeep.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring that delivered solutions meet their expectations.

**Requirements & Qualifications:**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in commercial interior space design, particularly in large facility or building projects (new and renovations).
  • At least two years of project management experience in the building construction sector.
  • Expertise in systems furniture, including experience working with major lines such as Knoll, Haworth, Steelcase, Herman Miller, and UNICOR.
  • A strong understanding of construction methodology and terminology.
  • Knowledge of space design principles, including IT/Electrical drops, AV interface, and MEP considerations.
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, preferably with recent AutoCAD experience.
  • Ability to create government estimates, track funds, and write scope documents.
  • An architecture, engineering, or construction management bachelor's degree from an accredited University recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

**Salary:** $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
