Manufacturing Operations Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Consultant to join our team at Plante Moran. As a key member of our management consulting team, you will work closely with clients to identify and address their manufacturing operations challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert consulting services to clients in various industries, including manufacturing, distribution, and automotive.
- Consult with clients to understand their business and operational goals, and work with the team to assess operations, benchmark optimal performance, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement recommendations to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall operations.
- Partner with executives and decision-makers to develop and communicate recommendations.
- Manage multiple client teams to execute complex, multi-layered projects and produce client deliverables.
- Mentor and develop internal staff.
- Support and lead practice development activities, including proposal development, networking events, and identifying new opportunities at current and targeted clients.
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a business-related field.
- 8+ years of project-related operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of plant floor, supply chain, and back office operations, as well as knowledge of a wide range of plant equipment, Industry 4.0 concepts, and manufacturing technology systems.
- Previous consulting experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Project Management (PMP) Certification is a plus.
- Frequent travel throughout the region, with approximately 50% - 75% overnight travel.
