Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee departmental operations to meet production, quality, delivery, and cost goals for the organization and its customers.
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to improve team performance according to key departmental metrics.
  • Report daily on key metrics and adhere to daily targets.
  • Maintain shift rotation schedules in accordance with business needs.
  • Establish standard processes and tools.
  • Manage personnel performance, including employee reviews, disciplinary action, time and attendance, shift scheduling, and overtime assignments.
  • Lead employee training and development, including cross-training for enhanced employee knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ensure the use of lean manufacturing tools in new process development.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department.
  • Communicate departmental updates to managers.
  • Maintain departmental health and safety compliance, including toolbox training, accident prevention, injury prevention, equipment safety, and company goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing work area practices, including 5-S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, work center metrics, and continuous improvement processes, with the ability to instruct others.
  • Strong leadership skills at all levels, good work ethic, and ability to professionally communicate and direct the work of others.
  • Basic English language skills and ability to read, follow, and interpret work instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and develop, as well as train others.
  • Typing and Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to focus and multi-task.
  • Able to stand and walk over 50% of the time.
Experience and Education
  • Manufacturing aerospace experience.
  • Leadership experience.
  • BA/S or equivalent education in Engineering or similar technical area.

Relocation is authorized for this position. This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations. To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
