Airport Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Operations Specialist to join our team at Spanish Fork City. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the airport, including maintenance, groundskeeping, and safety inspections.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and operate airport facilities, systems, and equipment to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and County regulations.
- Conduct safety, security, and operational inspections of airport grounds, fences, facilities, signage, navigational aids, and fuel systems.
- Assist in formulating procedures for aircraft accidents, fires, or other emergencies, and ensure fire suppression systems are fully operational.
- Communicate with airport management and stakeholders regarding airport maintenance, operations, safety, security, future development, and public relations.
- Perform routine groundskeeping activities, including mowing, edging, weeding, and watering around the airport, to present a neat and manicured appearance.
- Identify and execute airport improvement projects in collaboration with Spanish Fork City staff, airport management, and the airport board.
- Maintain the airport database of airport users, hangar owners, tie-down lessees, and based aircraft, and submit reports to the Utah Division of Aeronautics.
- Attend monthly airport board meetings and report on the status of airport systems and operations, and progress on current projects.
- Formal or informal training in airport management, business, public administration, or a related field.
- Experience in the operation of a small or large airport.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with airport patrons, employees, other agencies, and the public.
- Ability to think and act independently, and work under pressure when needed to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of FAA radio transmission, procedures, and protocol.
- Valid Utah driver's license with endorsements as required.
