Job Summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing complex equipment and systems at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site installation of sophisticated equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure proper working order
  • Provide troubleshooting and repair support for customers and other field service personnel
  • Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users, and company personnel
  • Successfully complete technical training and identify and complete specialist training based on microscopes in the region
  • Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel
Requirements
  • University degree in electronics, physics, engineering, computer science, or similar field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating complex analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, Prober, or similar systems
  • Experience with Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) a plus
  • Able to lead sophisticated technical issues and partner effectively with customers and colleagues
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork, time management, organizational, problem-solving, conflict management, and customer service skills

  • Competitive hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $43.70-$65.56
