We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant 1 MS to join our team at Yale University. The successful candidate will assist in conducting experiments, managing transgenic mutant mice, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and collect data through complex laboratory experiments and procedures.
- Record and compile information related to research data, coding data accordingly to research specifications.
- Assist in data interpretation and analysis, reporting on the status of research activities.
- Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and apparatus.
- Formulate and prepare scientific solutions and media, recruiting study participants and ordering supplies.
Required Education and Experience:
Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability in rodent handling and performing assays on rodents.
- Ability to work independently, within a team, and under supervision.
- Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented in experimental work and record keeping.
Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.
No drug screening or health screening is required for this position.
All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening.
