Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Yale School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to faculty, students, and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Services Manager: Provide efficient and effective delivery of administrative services, including academic, financial, research, and clinical support.
  • Financial Analyst and Manager: Partner with the Lead Administrator to build financial plans, provide comprehensive financial information, and analyze financial data to inform decision-making.
  • Risk Manager: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the effective and appropriate use of resources, accurate financial information, and adherence to contractual obligations and agreements.
  • University Citizen: Connect the unit and University through communication, alignment of priorities, implementation of initiatives, and active engagement in University administrative priorities.
  • Talent Manager and Developer: Utilize effective practices for attracting, retaining, and developing high-quality Business Office talent and other unit non-faculty personnel.
  • Strategic Resource: Partner with the Lead Administrator to shape the unit's administrative and operational priorities and support strategic planning process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum three years of related experience, including demonstrated leadership, project management, and/or supervisory experience.
  • Thorough working knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and analysis, with experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources effectively, measure and monitor progress, and redirect efforts as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to adapt communication style to address the needs of individuals at all levels throughout the university.
