As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist in our distribution center, you will be essential in ensuring customer satisfaction by managing the movement of goods, inventory, and materials for our commercial door and service clientele. LockNet provides forklift certification and comprehensive training on our products and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Organizing door frames on pallets to safeguard against damage during transit.
- Transporting goods, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, utilizing manual labor or equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Preparing materials for shipment by packing, sealing, and labeling containers.
- Verifying shipment contents against records like invoices or orders to ensure accuracy.
- Constructing windows, frame pallets, and crates for future shipments.
- Loading and unloading freight carrier shipments in accordance with safety protocols.
- Inspecting door, hardware, and frame components prior to dispatch to guarantee product quality.
- Operating forklifts to move heavy shipments efficiently.
- Carrying out additional job-related tasks as assigned.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in a comparable role.
- Experience with loading and unloading materials using a forklift is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to read and utilize measuring instruments.
- Basic computer skills are preferred, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication abilities.
- Regularly required to communicate effectively.
- Constantly required to use hands or fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, including overhead lifting.
- Regularly required to utilize close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to operate a forklift for the movement of heavy and oversized inventory within the warehouse.
