Position Overview:
The Ambulatory Services Nurse II is responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of nursing care throughout the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative stages. This role includes assisting the physician during surgical procedures while taking on the circulating responsibilities. The nurse will create, implement, and oversee a collaborative interdisciplinary care plan that addresses psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors affecting patient care. Building and maintaining effective communication and collaborative relationships with patients, their families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals is essential to ensure a high-quality patient experience. The nurse must adhere to established policies, industry standards, best practices, and relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Assist in surgical procedures and ensure patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their support systems.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Licensure:
Current RN license in California.
BLS certification required.
Department-Specific Certifications:
ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience required, including at least 1 year in an inpatient operating room setting. Bilingual candidates are highly preferred, as well as those with prior military experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong understanding of nursing theories, medical terminology, and anatomy. Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulations is crucial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to convey sensitive information to diverse audiences. Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records, is required. The ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team is essential.
Work Schedule:
Days, Full Time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Pay range is $68.97 to $90.34 per hour, with variations based on experience and qualifications.
