Job Summary

This is a two-year rotational Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) that provides challenging opportunities via short-term work assignments across the enterprise. The program is designed for internal RTX interns/co-ops and external entry-level professionals looking to create value and grow their career at RTX.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development, and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools.
  • Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
  • Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Computer Science/Engineering or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree.
  • Requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • Experience with C++, C, Java, or similar higher-level programming language.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cumulative 3.2 GPA.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, systems software design, operating systems, architectures, software development life cycle, and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to produce technical documentation, and the desire to learn new technologies and tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing software in a team-based development environment, preferably Agile/SCRUM, DevOps, and test automation.
