Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Petroleum Engineer Researcher to join our team at The University of Texas at Austin. This is a challenging opportunity for an individual with strong expertise in fluid flow modeling, two-phase flow systems, and code development.

Responsibilities
  • Research and develop innovative reservoir engineering solutions with a focus on carbon capture, utilization, and storage.
  • Fundraise from state, federal, and industry sources to support fundamental and applied research in relevant topics.
  • Promote public outreach and communication of research results through conferences and meetings.
Required Qualifications
  • Familiarity with fluid flow modeling and simulation.
  • Strong understanding of two-phase flow systems and their applications.
  • Ability to develop professional codes in Python and GUI development.
  • Proven capacity for innovative scientific analysis and publication skills.
  • PhD in petroleum engineering or related field within the last 3 years.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000+ depending on qualifications. The university offers a competitive benefits package, including Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) or Optional Retirement Program (ORP), subject to eligibility.
