Nuclear Engineering Researcher Opportunity at the University of Texas at Austin

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Nuclear Engineering Researcher to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. This exciting opportunity involves contributing to procedure development, dosimetry, and risk-related calculations to support reactor licensing. As a key member of our research team, you will work closely with faculty, students, researchers, and sponsors to identify and accomplish tasks.

The successful candidate will assist in designing, setting up, and executing experimental protocols, as well as operating research apparatus and instrumentation. You will also prepare reports, data visualizations, and summaries supporting reactor licensing documentation. Additionally, you will review, draft, and update facility procedures, including the radiation protection program and ALARA program components.

In this role, you will inspect laboratory and experimental setups to ensure conformity with project specifications and safety standards. You will also perform confirmatory calculations and analyses to evaluate environmental, health, and safety targets. Furthermore, you will support drafting and publishing results across the team.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $48,000+ depending on qualifications, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid basic medical coverage, retirement contributions, paid vacation and sick time, and paid holidays.
