Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: This role is dedicated to ensuring safe and reliable transportation for individuals seeking assistance or utilizing services provided by Spokane Treatment and Recovery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the policies and procedures essential for maintaining the continuity of services offered by Spokane Treatment and Recovery.
  • Possess knowledge of the contractual agreement between Spokane Treatment and Recovery and relevant local authorities.
  • Effectively communicate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and various social service organizations.
  • Collaborate with emergency responders to redirect individuals facing acute withdrawal, severe intoxication, or other behavioral health emergencies into appropriate services.
  • Conduct outreach in designated areas to identify individuals in crisis and facilitate their access to necessary services.
  • Provide transportation for clients between various Spokane Treatment and Recovery facilities.
  • Assist diversion staff in transporting clients from emergency medical facilities to Spokane Treatment and Recovery services.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including transports and vehicle maintenance concerns.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle used for transportation.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of surrounding areas, including litter and snow removal.
  • Support facility maintenance and promote staff safety.
  • Participate in all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education, along with relevant experience or training.
  • Required certifications include a valid Washington State Driver's License with a clean driving record for a minimum of three years; EMT certification is preferred; CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasional standing and frequent walking.
  • Regular sitting and occasional use of hand and finger dexterity.
  • Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl as needed.
  • Frequent communication and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
  • Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
