About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Battery Electrical Engineer III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of battery power distribution systems for our New Glenn launch vehicle.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that will play a critical role in the success of our mission to make humanity a multi-planetary species.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop battery power distribution systems for New Glenn
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with other vehicle components
  • Conduct testing and validation of electrical systems to ensure safety and reliability
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and specifications for electrical systems
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth production of electrical components
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in battery and/or power distribution development, with 3+ years in space applications desired
  • Direct experience with battery design, test, and manufacturing
  • 3 years of experience with high voltage systems design and/or testing
  • Experience specifying and justifying margins and test sequences for high power systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel to and work at remote sites supporting test integration, commissioning, and training
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in development of launch vehicles
  • Experience with human spaceflight or high-performance aircraft systems
  • Experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle
  • Experience with Primavera (P6), DOORS, CREO, Windchill
