Job Summary

The Mining Geologist will provide technical expertise to Barr's multidisciplinary project teams, developing drilling exploration programs, providing field exploration and mapping support, and managing projects involving metal and non-metal mining.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement drilling exploration programs
  • Provide field exploration and mapping support
  • Manage projects involving metal and non-metal mining
  • Develop geologic models and resource estimates
  • Write technical reports for mine technical reports
  • Manage administrative responsibilities such as business development, project management, and project planning
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mining, geotechnical, geological, or civil engineering; geology; or a related discipline
  • 10 years of related experience
  • Strong background in resource estimation
  • Familiarity with mine modeling software
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with teams
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • 15 years of related experience
  • 7 years of resource estimation experience
  • Geostatistics experience
  • Experience performing and managing mineral exploration programs
  • Mine operations and/or development and planning experience
  • National Instrument or SK-1300 Qualified Person
  • Established network with area clients
Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000-$130,000/year. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
