Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Power BI and experience working with large volumes of data.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing reports using Power BI desktop and service, with Snowflake as the data source.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Converting existing MicroStrategy reports to Power BI
  • Recommending BI solutions that meet business needs
  • Focusing on long-term maintenance and support of the BI solution
  • Collaborating with a team of developers and sharing Power BI knowledge

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Power BI desktop and service, as well as experience working with Snowflake and DAX Studio. They will also have excellent analytical skills and be able to develop visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI Desktop.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related analytical field is preferred, but not required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:

  • 8 years of experience in Power BI
  • At least 3 years of experience using Business Intelligence toolset
  • Experience working on Power BI reports with large volumes of data
  • Experience in handling/writing native queries in Power BI
  • Experience working with Power Query M formula language
  • Experience with developing efficient semantic models by taking scalability, accuracy, and report retrieval performance into consideration
  • Experience working on Power BI reports using Snowflake as a data source
  • Experience with various optimization techniques on Power BI semantic models using Snowflake
  • Experience working with DAX Studio and Tabular Editor
  • Experience working with full-stack Power BI in a large company
  • Experience creating Power BI reports and delivering via email in HTML format and printing reports
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI desktop tool and Power BI service
  • Proficient in creating complex DAX queries and advanced-level calculations in Power BI Desktop
  • Knowledge of the Power BI Report Builder tool
  • Knowledge of the newest features within Power BI
  • Knowledge to connect Power BI to Databricks delta tables and transform data for Business Intelligence
  • Analytical thinking for translating data into informative reports and visuals
  • Ability to develop visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI Desktop
  • Ability to optimize and update Power BI Semantic models to support new and existing projects
  • Ability to implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI
  • Ability to translate business needs to meet system and user requirements
