Patient Service Representative

This position is responsible for providing exceptional patient service and support in a fast-paced medical office environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors, answer phone calls, and respond to messages in a timely and professional manner.
Schedule patient appointments, register patients, and verify demographic information.
Obtain insurance cards, identification, and signatures on required forms, and verify insurance information to determine coordination of benefits.
Inform self-pay patients of liability due and prepare estimates of procedures, calculates advance payment requirements, and refer potentially eligible patients to financial counseling.
Collect patient payments, provide accurate receipts, and post payments in the system.
Maintain department and individual work queues, reports, and medical records, and prepare medical records for patient appointments.
Requirements:
One year of customer service experience involving interactions with customers in person and by phone.
Professional manner, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and basic computer skills and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements:
Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.
Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
See and read computer monitors and documents.
Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
Work Environment:
This position is located in a medical office environment and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions.
