Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Revenue Cycle Manager to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of patient accounts, ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections, and driving process improvements to enhance revenue cycle performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Development
    • Provide developmental opportunities for team members, build collaborative relationships, and foster a culture of open communication and feedback.
    • Set goals and provide coaching to drive performance improvement, and support the execution of performance management guidelines and expectations.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage designated work units or teams, translating business plans into tactical action items, and overseeing the completion of work assignments.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, and applicable compliance standards, and create monthly quality reports for leadership.
  • Denial and Collections Management
    • Lead the team's quality of performance affecting complex denials, and ensure effective remediation and oversight of data analysis and partnership efforts.
    • Perform follow-up and denial management activities related to the collections of outstanding self-pay and/or insurance balances.
  • Process Improvement
    • Use advanced knowledge to conduct root-cause analysis and plan process improvement projects, and identify business needs with operations managers, IT, clinicians, and health plan managers.
    • Implement complex planning to translate business needs into project requirements, and develop project specifications and action plans.
  • Regulatory Reporting
    • Research and apply regulation standards to recommend policy updates, and manage regulatory extracts.
    • Review the accuracy of the team's work and provide feedback, and implement required changes.
  • Vendor Management
    • Maintain and manage relationships with vendors, working with senior internal and external contacts to manage execution of work in accordance with organizational guidelines.
    • Institute new regional procedures, guidelines, strategies, and methods for managing vendor relationships.
  • Training and Development
    • Facilitate and deliver training, recommend training priorities, and recommend training delivery methods based on policies, audit findings, and work curriculum.
    • Use advanced knowledge to identify education and training requirements that reflect revenue cycle changes, and review new strategic training content.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field, and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in data analytics, merchant services, clinic/hospital operations, merchant services, banking, healthcare billing and collections, or relevant experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include two (2) years of cash handling experience, and one (1) year of experience managing operational or project budgets.
