Key Responsibilities:
Role Description:
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage all aspects of resin handling and storage within the facility. This includes overseeing the logistics of incoming and outgoing freight, which encompasses plant supplies and food packaging materials. The Material Handling Specialist will operate industrial trucks for loading and unloading materials and deliveries. Additionally, this role involves conducting inventory counts, data entry, and generating reports.
Job Duties Include:
- Addressing daily resin inventory needs.
- Collaborating with railroads and other resin carriers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Monitoring daily resin usage and communicating inventory and delivery status with the production team.
- Managing all incoming and outgoing freight operations.
- Completing cycle counts as assigned and reporting results.
- Supporting SAP functions related to inventory and load management (e.g., pick lists, PGI).
Maintaining warehouse standards by ensuring items are stored in designated areas, including trash, pallets, forklifts, pallet jacks, boxes, and finished goods. Upholding cleanliness in the Shipping/Receiving dock areas and warehouse workspaces.
- Communicating with vendors, drivers, suppliers, and contractors while prioritizing safety, building security, and customer service.
- Replenishing point-of-use shelves as assigned.
- Completing rework of finished goods pallets as necessary.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
- Successful completion of a lift truck/forklift certification program.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience operating lift trucks or clamp trucks in a fast-paced logistics environment is preferred.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to climb 60-foot silos.
- Capacity to carry 50 lbs over a distance of at least 500 feet.
- Flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned.
