Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Middle School English Language Arts Educator to join our team at Friendship Public Charter School. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership of their learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Leadership: Provide daily instruction, including clear learning outcomes, well-designed lessons, and high-quality assessments that align to our curriculum and standards.
  • Classroom Environment: Create a visually appealing and rich learning environment that honors students' achievements with current and accurate displays of exemplary student work.
  • Communication: Communicate regularly with students, families, and school-based staff to understand students' talents, interests, and needs, and to convey learning expectations and progress.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with school-based staff and throughout the Friendship network in staff meetings, regular analysis sessions, and professional learning designed to enhance students' learning experience and increase student achievement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Three years of teaching experience and results demonstrating high student achievement and significant growth preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of the Praxis II Exam or possess degree in education or subject area taught
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in field
  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and above
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and/or continuing education
